Job Purpose:

Leading on select Formula E World Championship Races.

Key Deliverables:

Responsible for the planning and delivery of established Championship events. You will project manage the lifecycle of select events on the Formula E World Championship calendar from the beginning of the planning phase to the completion of the event closure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Event Governance

  • Responsibility for delivering a safe and successful event according to the specifications of an FE Event
  • Knowledge of the ‘ins and outs’ of the event and the event location, incl. social, economic and environmental factors
  • Coordinating the cross-departmental planning process based on the intricacies and objectives of the respective event locations
  • Implementation of event-specific planning tools and communication streams
  • High-level budget control of the event, detailed budget management of owned budget lines
  • Identification and management of the event’s risk profile and development of communication and mitigation procedures, where required
  • Internal upward reporting of the status of the event planning

Team Management

  • Establishment and implementation of event-specific planning tools and communication streams
  • Ensuring leads come together as one team to deliver the event
  • Liaising with other FE Event Directors and Senior Managers to ensure a consistent approach across all events
  • Challenge internal teams to improve event P&L

Local Relationships

  • Management of local stakeholders in the event including, but not limited to, local team, local authorities, venue, and local businesses
  • Representation of Formula E with local stakeholders of the event
  • Contract manage the Local Team responsible for the production of the event in conjunction with FE Project Management representative

Event Growth & Commercial

  • Identification and development of local sales and commercial initiatives with the FE Commercial team
  • Develop appropriate pricing strategy for the local markets in collaboration with internal departments
  • Identification of opportunities to improve, grow and make the event more (cost-) efficient in the local market over future years
  • Develop the scope of the event to reflect FE values and ambitions
  • Develop host city relations to secure long term event stability

Requirements:

Knowledge required:

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and program management software (e.g. Smartsheet, Basecamp, MS Project etc.)
  • Good knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
  • Intellectual capability equivalent to degree level
  • Advanced understanding of project / programme management methods
  • Clear appreciation of the dynamics of sporting organisations

Experience required:

  • Hands-on experience driving resourceful and focused projects with the ability to demonstrate results
  • Proven experience in similar position managing complex temporary events of a significant scale across a variety of international markets
  • Ability to oversee multi-stakeholder delivery team and an understanding of the challenges faced
  • Ability to recognize and contribute to strategic, tactical and operational activities
  • Experience working within Motorsport is desirable

Job Purpose:

This new role is equivalent to a ‘Head of’ department position in a one of the fastest-moving and most vibrant environments in the public relations sector, combining elite international sport, stunning live events, leading automotive brands, innovative consumer technology and industry-leading sustainability credentials.

The Senior Manager will oversee the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of a high-performing specialist team of four managers and executives responsible for: corporate and sustainability communications; sporting communications; and consumer public relations.

They will also be responsible for maximizing the impact of the international PR agency network supporting Formula E in every race market, and thrive on showcasing the measurable outcomes achieved by this international Communications team with evidence-based, timely reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The day-to-day activities for the Senior Manager will vary based on the race season with two key scenarios: race week, and all other periods outside of race week including the off season.

Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in PR or communications role, agency or in-house.

  • Writing. The candidate must be able to write and edit news and feature copy to the standard of a professional journalist, to tight deadlines.
  • Consultancy. The candidate must have had experience as a a PR practitioner either in-house and/or in agency of listening to an internal ‘client’, helping identify the business problem, and providing trusted PR advice to solve the problem.
  • News awareness and judgement. The ability to generate a story and deliver it in media is highly-valued in a a challenger business trying to leverage every opportunity to generate ‘noise’ in media.

Your role

Working in the Commercial team, the Partnership Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the delivery of commercial and marketing initiatives designed to deliver measurable success for our Teams & Manufacturers.

Key deliverables:

This role is responsible for providing high level client support to our Teams and Manufacturers across campaign activations, hospitality/ticketing programmes, and branding.

You will provide an exceptional level of service and clear communication to support our Teams’ and Manufacturers’ promotion of their association of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and cultivate authentic, close working relationships with selected Teams by understanding their objectives and anticipating their needs
  • Support the day-to-day delivery of requirements for selected teams and manufacturers to ensure successful amplification of Championship initiatives
  • Work closely with other departments (i.e. Event Experience, Hospitality, Digital, Communications, Merchandising, Insights, Marketing/Brand, Sustainability, Finance) to deliver best in class service to our teams and manufacturers
  • Contribute to the development of forward-thinking, innovative marketing solutions that will improve the activation of teams’ association with the Championship
  • Collaborate with teams on the development and timely approval of all team marketing assets to ensure collateral is consistent with Formula E’s brand guidelines
  • Ensure all guests (customer, employee, VIP and media) have an unforgettable hospitality experience, providing full support pre, during and post-race

Your Role

Sitting within the Hospitality Department, the role of Hospitality Manager will be responsible for supporting on design, strategy, and creation of world class premium experiences around the globe for the framework of Formula E Hospitality Products. These span from low-tier, shared spaces to bespoke private suites to VVIP curated experiences, gala dinners and launch events and are offered across the full spectrum of the Formula E race calendar.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Hospitality product development in all markets and help in identifying and delivering both existing and new commercial opportunities.
  • Support on project management and operational delivery of the Race Suites & other Hospitality products
  • Manage client enquires and requirements, to then ensure expectations are delivered.
  • Attend internal cross-departmental meetings, channels, and support on creating internal and external briefs and specifications for Hospitality Products
  • Manage production of all web and digital sales and marketing collateral for Race Suites and other Hospitality & Premium Products for the ecosystem
  • Manage the Hospitality Information Hub ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Support in analysing market trends, ecosystem and consumer needs, and the competitive landscape
  • Support Finance and the Hospitality team in raising purchase orders.
  • Support on planning and executing any side events including but not limited to launches, cocktail receptions, Galas and afterparties.
  • Promote a ‘guest first’ attitude and awareness of sustainable hospitality.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting across budgets, brief statuses, contract status, debriefing.
  • Liaise with the Hospitality & Premium Experiences Manager across updates on delivery pipeline.
  • Focus to develop and improve processes for driving efficiencies, workload management, general project management.
  • Support the Hospitality & Premium Experiences Director and the Hospitality & Premium Experiences Manager with minute taking and distribution of minutes across relevant departments.
  • Support wider Hospitality Team on event deliverables when needed.

Senior Specialist, Formula E Partnerships – McLaren Racing

McLaren join the grid for Season 9 of the FIA ABB Formula E World Championship and the start of the Generation 3 era of all-electric street racing, as NEOM McLaren Formula E.

Senior Partnership Sales Manager – Formula E

Your role

The Senior Partnership Sales Manager will support the Commercial Team in pro-actively executing the sales strategy and securing new partners for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The team is responsible for developing, executing and selling global and local Partnerships at Formula E.

Key Deliverables

Align with key stakeholders to develop innovative proposals in order to secure high value, multi-year global partnerships.

What you will be doing

  • Align with Brand, Partnership Strategy, Partnership Marketing, Media, Business Intelligence and Sustainability teams to develop innovative partnership proposals
  • Work with the Director to negotiate and close integrated brand partnerships combining IP association, co-marketing activations, branded content and media exposure
  • Execute partnership sales go-to-market strategy alongside the Director, with an emphasis on new categories, new assets and rights development
  • Working with the Partnership Planning & Operations teams, and Partnership Sales Director to deliver the end-to-end sales process, including initial market analysis, prospect approach, proposal creation, commercial negotiations and contracting of agreements
  • Achieve weekly calls and meeting targets
  • Compile and analyse sales figures to provide regular reports
  • Develop, grow and maintain sales pipeline
  • Liaise with in house design teams to deliver bespoke collateral for commercial pitches
  • Collaborate with other sales team members to achieve the overall partnership sales budget
  • Cultivate effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key accounts
  • Foster brilliant internal collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure regular communications with internal stakeholders, Team and Event Partners in order to deliver all contractual, addition and new purchase requirements.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be an experienced and confident individual capable of working alone as well as part of a team. The candidate must have a solid understanding and experience in a proactive and autonomous commercial sales environment.

  • Partnership sales experience (preferably with high value partnership teams)
  • Understanding and enjoyment of pure proactive sales execution
  • Ability to network across various business types
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Ability to forecast, plan and manage budgets
  • Strong ability to develop a solid network of corporate partnership pipeline
  • Experience in prospect analysis
  • Must be able to manage a high workload whilst maintaining professionalism
  • Proactive and autonomous, able to self motivate and focus
  • Must be highly driven, impactful and enthusiastic
  • Able to and enjoys working collaboratively with varying teams across many departments
  • Readiness to travel globally at short notice to follow up on leads.
