THE POSITION

These are your key tasks:

  • The establishment, management and maintenance of a global digital newsroom, able to operate and function 24/7 for the distribution of FIFA messaging across owned, earned and shared platforms.
  • Contribution to a “multimedia-first” approach of content curation, ensuring economies of scale through strong content briefs which enable multi-platform approaches to publication.
  • Working with Corporate Communications unit (and other members of the Communications division) on strategies for content gathering, aligning with the Head of Content Production on budgetary matters and business priorities.
  • Supporting the multimedia assets that promote corporate and social campaigns of the organisation, working with the Senior Campaigns & Education Consultant and the Head of Content Production on requirements.
  • Ensuring that all contributors to the Content Production team are trained on platforms, services and tools at their disposal including – but not limited to – Contentful, Bynder (FIFA Digital Hub), Imagen and Monday.com.
  • Completing the integration of a workflow for multilingual editorial content versions with the Communication Services team and ensuring it is maintained and utilised by all contributors.
  • Overseeing content on institutional social media channels of the organisation and ensuring their effective and impactful cross-promotion on other channels, working with the agency responsible.
  • Supporting the Director of Communications and Head of Content Production in timely delivery of video assets for FIFA institutional events, such as Council and Congress meetings, The BEST FIFA Football Awards etc.
  • The establishment of a supportive editorial back office mechanism, able to efficiently handle content production across a range of media types and arrange all administrative tasks related to travel and monthly payments.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • Proven experience (10+ years) working in an international sports and/or media organisation – with a specific background in football and/or journalism.

Being a key member of the club’s communications team, the purpose of this role is to proactively drive forward the public relations function, through a range of planned programmes of communications activities. Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will be anexperienced and dynamic PR professional with a significant experience and a degree (or equivalent) in Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the UK media landscape, strong knowledge of social media and influencer engagement, and exceptional writing skills. You will be skilled at developing creative and strategic PR plans, managing press conferences and events, and handling brand and reputational management with precision. A background in commercial PR, particularly within the sports sector, is desirable, along with experience working with high-profile individuals in large organisations. You should bring excellent coordination skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure. Strong media contacts in the sports industry, both nationally and locally, are also highly desirable. The Premier League Charitable Fund is looking to appoint an experienced Communications Executive on a fixed-term basis. This new role will support the Communications Manager to use communications to drive forward the work of the charity, ensure recognition for the funders and raise awareness of the work of both the charity itself and the Club Community Organisation (CCO) network.

The Communications Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the communication action plan. This is a broad and varied role in a small and committed team and will include regular collaboration with Policy, Communications, Editorial and Marketing colleagues from the Premier League. The person we appoint will need to have excellent written and oral communication skills and great attention to detail. The role will be fast paced and wide ranging, from drafting copy and creating case studies to procuring branded materials and merchandise. The role

  • Supporting with effective communications around the delivery of community activities and events as required, including project planning and delivery, to ensure high-quality activity for participants and stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Senior Communications Manager to design, develop and roll out communication toolkits, templates and resources, as required by the Premier League, programme leads or the CCO network.
  • Working with the Senior Communications Manager and communication providers and partners to develop content as required (eg film makers, resource providers, talent, etc).
  • Liaising with the Premier League’s Community, Communications and Digital teams to effectively use social and digital channels when promoting Premier League programmes delivered through the Premier League Charitable Fund.
  • Creating a library of case studies and stories from CCOs, to inform a range of stakeholders about the collective impact of work supported by the Premier League Charitable Fund, in particular our funders and partners. Helping to align these to relevant campaigns, themes or calendar moments.
  • Coordinating administrative and logistical elements of Premier League Charitable Fund events and conferences, including Premier League Charitable Fund spokesperson activity.
  • Working collaboratively with the Premier League Charitable Fund Impact team to continually improve quality of CCO case studies.
  • Helping to deliver communication-related training and CPD to the Premier League Charitable Fund and the CCO network, including sharing good practice as a result of learning, development and innovation.
  • Supporting colleagues to procure relevant appropriately branded materials to help promote the Premier League community programmes and the Premier League Charitable Fund. This could include working with Premier League marketing colleagues and external suppliers to ensure event branding, merchandise and kit (for goody bags, participants or staff) is fit for purpose and good value for money.

This exciting new role in our Digital Media team will lead on content planning across the Premier League’s digital media output on owned and operated channels.

The ideal candidate will have a content and/or marketing background, an affinity for sports, and experience of agency management.

This role will work closely with core members of the Content Delivery team and Premier League Productions’ Digital & Creative team along with external agencies to support on the timely planning and delivery of content throughout the year, ensuring that major moments and campaigns are recognised and delivered with excellence, alongside high-quality business as usual output.

This role will also work closely with the Premier League’s Communications, Marketing and Commercial teams on the planning and delivery of key milestones for the wider business to ensure coordinated narrative and optimised engagement.

The right candidate will have an excellent awareness of what the Premier League does both on and off the field, exceptional editorial judgment, meticulous attention to detail and a strong background in digital video content production.

The role

This is a new role created to help lead content planning and distribution across the Premier League’s digital media output across owned and operated channels.

This role is fundamental to the delivery of the Premier League’s digital media business and involves, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Advocating for and explaining the rationale behind content positioning across multiple platforms to a range of stakeholders
  • Applying an organisation and a project management style lens to content, campaigns and new platform launches
  • Scheduling and hosting creative sessions aimed at establishing our approach and creative executions to campaign moments and spikes across operated and owned channels
  • Sharing weekly email updates with Digital Media team, highlighting planned content
  • Supporting the wider team in managing and building strong, two-way relationships with our agencies. This includes clearly mapping out roles and responsibilities on a project-by-project basis, overseeing campaign development and management and giving creative input and guidance, to ensure we are driving the best possible content from shoot days
  • Ensuring our regional agencies are included and involved in updates, content plans, campaigns and discussions with good lead time, so they can collaborate and adopt for regional channels in a way that best works for their audiences
  • Assessing performance, content gaps and opportunities in line with KPIs and objectives to see us achieve results and set the standard in the industry and beyond
  • Ensuring a collaborative approach across campaigns and projects that are running in tandem
  • Contributing to the content strategy and communicating its value and importance simply and clearly to a variety of stakeholders
  • Identifying trends, patterns and actionable insights from different data points and through observation
  • Clearly and concisely communicating the role that different channels play (owned and operated) and how to leverage content to drive deeper relationships with fans
  • Planning and managing creation and roll out of content and ensuring that it is maximised across a range of channels
  • Ideation of creative cross-platform content ideas that align with insights, data and wider strategy

Requirements For The Role

  • Considerable professional experience in digital content development and planning, at agency, production company, or related role
  • Demonstrable passion for creating content to the appropriate audience, and knowledge of those subjects which inform, educate & entertain the audience
  • Specific experience in a planning or coordination role, including agency management, and managing multiple workstreams efficiently with clear deliverables
  • Familiarity with traditional and digital marketing channels, content marketing and distribution platforms and consumer analytics
  • Understanding and appreciation of communications and brand
  • Experience of brand messaging, tone of voice, and content alignment
  • Ability and experience of working within an editorial environment to craft and deliver stories to drive business goals
  • Educated to degree level with experience of managing and producing multimedia content in a fast-paced environment. Education / qualification in multimedia content creation preferable but not essential
  • Strong creative eye, including an appreciation of brand and creative, to deliver a clear editorial vision for the lifecycle of content across multiple platforms
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to schedule and prioritise multiple work streams effectively
  • A motivated, self-critical, proactive and ambitious individual with exceptional communication skills
  • Collaborative and open-minded team player with the confidence to deal with senior internal and external figures
  • Keen sports fan with a solid knowledge of the Premier League’s structure and context in the industry
