Ireland’s Bohemian FC Gets DHL as New Main Sponsor

March 9, 2012

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express delivery company, have announced it has become the main sponsor of League of Ireland’s Bohemian Football Club for the 2012 season.

The new agreement, which takes effect from Bohemians’ first home league match of the season against Shelbourne this Friday, will see the DHL logo included on the training kit and jerseys worn by the club’s players during all domestic and European competitions.

“We’re delighted to support Bohemian Football Club and strengthen our bond with Irish football. For many years we have been the Official Logistics Partner of the FAI and this partnership reaffirms our commitment to Irish football,” said Bernard McCarthy, Managing Director DHL Express Ireland.

“DHL is renowned for its involvement with world class sports – such as our partnerships with Formula 1™, Manchester United, and Rugby World Cup 2011, from the perspective of DHL Express Ireland we wanted to partner with a local club which our customers and staff could relate to and support. Given that we are based on the northside of Dublin, Bohemians are effectively our local club and with their tradition, history and strong links to the local community they provide an ideal local partnership opportunity.”

Bohemian FC president Chris Brien welcomed DHL Express as the club’s main sponsor.

“We are delighted a company with such high brand recognition has come on board as the club’s new title sponsor,” he said. “We look forward to a strong partnership that delivers mutual benefits. We thank the executives of DHL Express and Halpin Sport for making this partnership possible.

“For all of our ninety years in the League of Ireland we have played at the top level and with the support of our hard-working staff, our supporters and, crucially, our sponsors, we will maintain this unique record.”
