Join us for the Advantage All Global Forum on Monday 14th November 10:30-12 GMT.

The Global Forum aims to empower women to take leadership positions in all areas of sports, maintain balanced participation, raise the commercial appeal of the women’s game, manage the media image of women’s sport and create a culture that includes and inspires all.

With those principles central to the event, we’ve curated two panel sessions that really dive deep into increasing the visibility and improving the portrayal of women’s sport across the media and how you can contribute to growing and commercialising women’s sport.

The Agenda

Panel 1, See it to Be it: Eliminating Gender Bias – 10:30-11:15 GMT

Under the key themes of Visibility & Voice, the panel will discuss:

VISIBILITY: How can you eliminate gender bias in the portrayal of your athletes and your sport? How important is the quality and quantity of coverage and the prominence of this coverage in both in communications and through the media in bringing mens and womens sports to begin to create a level playing field?

VOICE: How can we change the narrative when speaking about women’s sport? How does the language, images and voices used when describing women’s sport or individual athletes impact on overall portrayal? What language can create an inclusive environment?

Panel 2, Portrayal Pays: Commercialising Women’s Sport – 11:15-12 GMT

Under the key theme of Value, the session will delve into:

VALUE: How do you make money from women’s sport? This session will focus on the overall portrayal of women’s sport and how this is intrinsically linked to increased commercial value, profile and growth at all levels. The debate will highlight the tangible ways where change is/or can be made with supporting data, highlighting key goals with realistic and achievable timeframes.
