This is an exciting time for the organisation Community sport is going through a period of development. We have a unique opportunity for a Sport Wales Senior Officer to cover a secondment from the Community Sport Team. 

This is a key role and will play a part in developing and implementing new policy and leading key partnerships, such as those with National Partners, Local Authorities and Sports Governing Bodies and is directly aligned to the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act. 

We are looking for someone who possess the ability to work with a wide range of partners and drive national projects to increase participation in sport and physical activity. 

The individual would ideally possess a strong understanding of transformational change, ability to lead, inspire and build highly effective relationships, have exceptional experience in project management, be a strategic thinker and bring drive and influence to support us achieve our goals. 

You will work innovatively with colleagues and external organisations at a regional and national level while maximising performance insight to deliver community sport outcomes. 

It is essential that you have a degree or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject, along with experience in sport and physical activity development or a related field. You will be an influencer who is organised with excellent planning, communication, negotiation and administrative skills. 

Benefits include average salary pension scheme, free use of facilities, discounted restaurant and onsite parking. 
Salary range – £33,060 to £40,680 per annum (inclusive of 20% unsocial hour’s allowance). Subject to review.

It is understood that Chelsea initiated talks to end the deal early and are happy to pay the £40m termination fee.

FIFA President Infantino Vows to Launch 2026 World Cup Bidding Process

New FIFA president Gianni Infantino has pledged to start the bidding process for the 2026 World Cup soon.

Launching the process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was one of the things Infantino promised to do during his first 90 days as FIFA President.

The Swiss will like the bidding to start before FIFA reconvene for their next congress meeting in Mexico in May.

“It is fairly urgent, prostate ” Infantino said.

“Definitely, I think we need to launch the bidding process in the next couple of months, probably before the congress in May.”

Infantino also denied claims that he promised the United States that they would host the 2026 World Cup to secure key votes in the election. 

One of the 115 votes he secured in the second round of voting saw US Soccer Federation head Sunil Gulati switch his vote to Infantino.

Asked if he had made promises to the U.S. regarding the World Cup, Infantino replied: “No, certainly not.

“I spoke with many delegates… trying to tell them that they should vote for football and for me.”

Fourteen Cities Bid to Host Japan 2019 Rugby World Cup Matches

Fourteen cities across Japan have submitted bids to host matches at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in in the Japan.

With the submission phase of the bidding process for the hosting of matches now closed, ailment each application will be closely assessed with the successful cities or prefectures being announced in the first quarter of next year.

Cities from Sapporo City in the north of the country, stuff down to Nagasaki and Kumamoto in the south have all expressed their interest in hosting matches for the tournament meaning there will be a geographical spread of potential venues in the country.

This will mean fans will be at the very heart of the event along with a mix of stadium capacities ranging from 80,000 in Tokyo to 15,000 at Kamaishi City in the Iwate Prefecture.

The full list of applicant cities are: Sapporo City, Iwate Prefecture and Kamaishi City, Sendai City, Saitama Prefecture and Kumagaya City, Tokyo, Shizuoka Prefecture, Aichi Prefecture and Toyota City, Osaka Prefecture and Higashi Osaka City, Kyoto City, Kobe City, Fukuoka City, Oita Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture and Kumamoto City, Nagasaki Prefecture.

Rugby World Cup 2019 Chairman Bernard Lapasset welcomed the announcement: “It is very encouraging for us to note the huge level of interest in Japan to host matches for rugby’s showcase event.

“The fact that the tournament has the full backing of local and national government is particularly pleasing and it is essential for its success.

“Japan has a strong history of delivering world-class sports events with an excellent infrastructure, state-of-the-art venues and people who love to engage and be part of the celebration.”

Chief Executive of Japan Rugby 2019 Akira Shimazu said: “The standards required to host matches at Rugby World Cup are very high but, nevertheless, many local governments have submitted applications.

“I am confident that despite any challenges each applicant may face, they will be up to the task. I am truly grateful for their interest in hosting the Rugby World Cup 2019.

“The host cities will be our full partners, and we will select them in a fair and comprehensive process to ensure a Rugby World Cup that is successful nationwide and worldwide.”

Rugby World Cup 2015 On Track at the Two Years To Go Stage

The organisers of the Rugby World Cup 2015 (RWC 2015) have said that the tournament is on track at the two-years-to-go mark.

Organisers England Rugby 2015 Limited (ER 2015) and tournament owners Rugby World Cup Limited have outlined the progress made to date and the next 24 months before kick off in September 2015.

ER 2015 Chief Executive Debbie Jevans highlighted how the organising committee has grown to 50 members of staff and will increase to 70 by the end of 2013.

Key priorities include building the team, tadalafil selecting the match venues, ed finalising the schedule, setting the tournament vision and developing the detailed delivery plans and timelines have all been completed.

Jevans said: “In the past 12 months, we have achieved a great deal and laid the foundations – two years out we are on track and in good shape.

“We are now focused on finalising the kick-off times and the ticketing strategy by the end of the year. We continue to work with the IRB and all our key stakeholders and our aim is for tickets to be as affordable and accessible as possible.

“As we move into 2014 we begin to fully engage and mobilise our plans with the launch of the volunteer programme, international Webb Ellis Cup tour and tickets going on sale.”

Recognising the milestone, RWCL Managing Director Brett Gosper said: “In exactly two years, England will host one of the biggest sporting and cultural festivals the country has ever seen. For 44 days, the world’s top 600 players representing 20 nations will be performing to a global audience of four billion across 13 venues the length and breadth of the country showcasing Rugby and the host nation.”

Clifford Chance named RWC 2015 official law firm

In other news, Clifford Chance has been appointed as the Official Law Firm of the RWC 2015.

Clifford Chance will provide the full range of legal services for the tournament and has a strong heritage in sport.

The announcement reunites Clifford Chance with Rugby World Cup after it successfully performed the role for the record-breaking France 2007 and furthers the law firm’s strong association with sport, including leading in the key advisory area of sports finance and acquisitions.

Oakland Raiders Seek New Stadium

National Football League (NFL) franchise the Oakland Raiders are looking to move to a new stadium worth approximately $800m (£527.6m).

The lease on the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum ends at the end of the season and the Raiders are reported to want to move to a 50, medstore 000 seater stadium.

That would be the smallest stadium in the NFL, medicine but also one of the cheapest – the San Francisco 49ers new stadium, which will open next season, cost $1.3bn (£900m).

The Oakland Tribune is reporting that the Raiders will pay $300m (£198m) and the NFL will contribute $200m (£132m) from its stadium loan program.

Public funding would make up the remaining $300m (£198m) for the stadium, a figure that has been criticised in reports.

Mark Davis, owner of the Raiders, has said that he wants to keep the team in Oakland, but is not willing to sign another short term lease before an agreement is in place for a new stadium.

The Raiders have played in Oakland for 13 years, having played in Los Angeles before-hand.

Job Purpose

To implement, co-ordinate and deliver the LCFC Community Trust’s disability football / sports programme, and to support the transition of young people to access all provision within the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for leading a dedicated team to deliver a number of inclusive football and youth work programmes across the Leicestershire area.

Duties and Responsibilities

To co-ordinate the Trust’s PL/BT LCFC ‘We-Can’ Disability Programme in terms of delivery, quality assurance and monitoring & evaluation.

The key responsibilities of the post are: 

• Strategically implement, evaluate and develop a disability football / sports development plan for Leicester and Leicestershire. 

• Be responsible for managing and monitoring the PL/BT ‘We-Can’ Disability programme and provide regular reports as required. 

• Monitor performance against set objectives and targets. 

• Report programme progress to the Inclusion Manager against targets agreed within the programme proposal. 

• To co-ordinate and deliver the PL/BT ‘We-Can’ Disability programme within local SEN and mainstream schools and colleges, youth clubs or through disability support agencies. 

• To supervise the part-time Inclusion coaches and casual coaches to effectively deliver the PL/BT ‘We-Can’ Disability programme and to ensure existing LCFC provision is inclusive to those with specific disabilities and SEN’s. 

• Develop disability coach development/education workshops either impairment specific or pan disability for staff and volunteers. 

• To deliver coaching sessions for disabled people as and when the programme requires. 

• Supporting the coaches in the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the PL/BT ‘We-Can’ Disability programme, in line with requirements for funding. 

• Ensuring all relevant quality standards are met in coaching, games, tournaments, education and personal development activities. 

• To develop effective working relationships with key partners and agencies, raising the profile of LCFC Community Trust through building up local networks and representation on local groups, including: Local Authorities, County FA, Leicestershire and Rutland Sport, Active Ellesmere, and the club’s Disability Supporters Association. 

• To co-ordinate volunteers and their development within the PL/BT ‘We-Can’ Disability programme. 

• Promoting and expanding activities in line with the strategic direction of LCFC Community Trust.

• Have a good understanding of equity and social inclusion and where appropriate support delivery of specific projects. 

• Engage with local disability clubs to deliver the football coaching sessions. 

• Engage and consult with local communities and partners in order to improve the delivery of opportunities and services at a local level and increase participation amongst targeted groups. 

• Identify gaps in community provision of football / sport. To develop new opportunities as appropriate e.g. football sessions, new teams/clubs and competitions. 

• Provide information and articles for the LCFC website, and match day programmes. 

• Maintain and submit accurate records of activities in line with departmental requirements, and collate evidence of activities as directed.

• To deal with basic safeguarding issues and where necessary to liaise with and refer on to the Trust’s safeguarding lead and the club’s Safeguarding and Welfare Officer.
