Allianz Extends International Paralympic Committee Partnership

German financial services company, symptoms Allianz have extended and expanded their partnership with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). 

The current four-year agreement spans a full Paralympic Games cycle, including Allianz’s support of National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) on their way to the Sochi 2014 Winter Games and Rio 2016 Games.

Allianz SE has been a proud partner of the IPC since 2006, and the first International Partner of the IPC from 2011 onwards, a role that incorporates global and local co-operation. During this long-standing and mutually beneficial co-operation, Allianz has helped to foster public awareness and generate a greater interest in Paralympic sport in general.

IPC President, Sir Philip Craven said: “I am delighted that Allianz and the IPC are continuing their successful partnership. It is really a passionate relationship and Allianz gets the spirit of the Paralympic Movement and its athletes. That is what makes me most happy. In addition to the global and local partnerships, Allianz will also be involved with IPC Athletics in order to create even more excitement about the Paralympic Movement. The IPC Athletics Federation organises all athletic sport disciplines and events throughout the season, including wheelchair racing, shot put, running, long jump and so forth. 

Several local partnerships between Allianz subsidiaries and local NPCs are about to be signed, e.g. in Croatia, Czech Republic and Germany. Further local contracts will follow this year, so that the total number of local co-operations should be a minimum of 13

Nissan to be Official Automotive Partner of Team GB & ParalympicsGB Until Rio 2016

Nissan has announced it will support Team GB and ParalympicsGB athletes who will compete at the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games as Official Automotive Partner.

As part of the deal it will also apply its performance credentials and expertise in innovative and technology to help enhance the squads’ training regimes and overall performance.

Nissan will also provide vehicles to the BOA and BPA, see enabling the organisations to deliver world-class logistical support to Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Team GB delivered its greatest performance in over a century at the London 2012 Olympic Games, anabolics winning 65 medals, including 29 gold, to finish third in the medals table. ParalympicsGB maintained their status as a leading nation in Paralympic sport by finishing third in the medals table, claiming 120 medals, including 34 gold.

In February last year, Nissan was unveiled as a ‘Tier 1’ sponsor and the automotive partner of the Rio 2016 Games. It will supply over 4,500 vehicles to support the Olympic and Paralympic events.

In October last year, London 2012 triple gold medallist and 4x100m world record holder, Usain Bolt, extended his role as Nissan GT-R ambassador to become Nissan’s honorary ‘Director of Excitement’.

Lord Sebastian Coe, Chairman of the British Olympic Association, introduced Nissan as the Official Automotive Partner of Team GB for 2013-2016 at a media briefing in Central London.

He said: “I am delighted that Nissan, a company that is recognised globally for excellence and performance, is partnering with Team GB on the ‘Road to Sochi and Rio’. The BOA played an important role in enabling me to pursue my Olympic dreams and compete for Team GB, and now, thanks to partners like Nissan, today’s athletes can be afforded the same support.

“Nissan has invested heavily in British industry and now it is backing Britain in the greatest sporting arena in the world.”

Tim Hollingsworth, CEO of the British Paralympic Association, welcomed the partnership saying: “We are delighted that, following on from the inspiration of London, they have sought actively to support the BPA in this country alongside their becoming the first Paralympic partner of the Rio 2016 Games.

Warwickshire Cricket Gains New Opticians Partner

Scrivens Opticians has sealed a tw-year deal with Warwickshire County Cricket Club to become their first Official Opticians Partner and sponsor the back of their white championship shirt.

Kukri Sports Becomes Commonwealth Games England Official Kit Supplier

Commonwealth Games England has announced Kukri Sports as its official kit supplier.

The agreement will see the international sportswear company supply all England delegation and competition wear for next year’s Commonwealth Games.The contract – signed at St George’s Park, viagra Burton – also sees Kukri producing an exclusive range of replica team products for England fans.

The deal was signed in front of English representatives from each of the Commonwealth Games’ sports by Adam Paker, remedy CGE Chief Executive, and Phil Morris, Kukri’s founder and Group Managing Director.

NHRA Signs Marketing Deal with Rocky Brands

The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has announced a sponsorship deal with Rocky Brands who will have marketing rights at select NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events in 2013.

As part of the agreement, ambulance Rocky Brands will have display space at select events and the right to conduct a national promotion.

Zurich Insurance Group Extends Title Sponsorship of PGA Tour Event at New Orleans

Zurich Insurance Group has announced it has inked a five-year extension as title sponsor of the ZurichClassic of New Orleans, troche through 2019.

“This extension shows Zurich’s continued commitment to New Orleans and its people,” Zurich Insurance  Group CEO, Martin Senn said during a press conference at TPC Louisiana, where the 54th edition of the tournament begins tomorrow. “Our sponsorship has allowed us to build valuable relationships with the Fore!Kids Foundation and the PGA TOUR. Together we have raised more than $9 million to support local charities whose mission is to help children in need in the New Orleans area.  TheZurich Classic has paid dividends on many levels and I am confident that Zurich’s bonds with New Orleans will grow even stronger in the years ahead.”

Zurich became title sponsor of the tournament in 2005 and four years later, signed an extension through 2014.
