Anheuser-Busch InBev Replaces Old Style as Marketing Partner of Chicago Cubs

Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs has announced a new sponsorship deal with Anheuser-Busch InBev that could mean the Budweiser logo on a new sign in the right-field at Wrigley Field.

A team official said Anheuser-Busch InBev will be its “exclusive marketing partner” for beer and malt beverages at Wrigley Field. The deal also applies to the Cubs’ spring training facility in Mesa Ariz.

Cubs officials said in a news release that the agreement means the team is ending its decades-long marketing relationship with Old Style in 2014, meaning signs touting the beer will be removed.

“This was a very difficult decision following a decades-long relationship we enjoyed with this great brand,” the Cubs said of ending its partnership with Old Style. “We will continue to offer Old Style and Old Style Light to our fans for our remaining games.”

The sign is part of a $500 million renovation project at the 99-year-old ballpark approved by the city of Chicago, which includes a massive Jumbotron in left field. 

Terms of the deal with Anheuser-Busch InBev weren’t disclosed. However, Cubs spokesman Julian Green says the new agreement means the Budweiser sign could go up as early as 2014.

“This is the time of year when every baseball team in the league is trying to renew corporate partnerships or go after new partnerships and sell all available assets to raise revenues for their ballclubs,” Green told the Chicago Sun-Times. 

Manchester United Signs New Credit Card Deal with MBNA

Manchester United have renewed their partnership with credit card issuer MBNA for a further three years.

As the Club’s Official Credit Card provider for the UK, store MBNA will be celebrating its on-going partnership with United by launching a range of new club-branded credit cards.

Quicken Loans Acquire Naming Rights to New Seating Section at Lions’ Ford Field

The Detroit Lions will have a new premium seating section for the new season after concluding a multi-year partnership between Quicken Loans.

The Dream Seat section, unhealthy the only of its kind in the National Football League, shop will feature 54 overstuffed black leather recliners embroidered with the Quicken Loans logo.  The comfortable seats will also have large high definition LCD televisions mounted in front of them so the fans in the section can catch up on scores from other games or watch replays of the amazing action taking place inside Ford Field.  An additional eight “premium” Dream Seats will be located in the first row above the player tunnel where the team enters and exits the field, drugs offering amazing views of the action, and the opportunity to get very close to the Detroit Lions superstars.

The Dream Seats will be available to team members and business partners of the Quicken Loans family of companies for all Detroit Lions home games, as well as select events taking place at Ford Field.

New Orleans Advocate Becomes Official Newspaper of Saints & Pelicans

Businessman Tom Benson, who owns the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, will see his two sport franchises welcome an official newspaper with the New Orleans Advocate been given that designation.

The deal makes The New Orleans Advocate the official newspaper of the Saints and Pelicans, and it allows the newspaper to promote itself at home games of the two teams.

“We have a great newspaper here, a daily newspaper, instead of having one three days a week or whatever it is,” Tom Benson said in relation to The Times-Picayune’s decision to curtail home delivery. “We are excited about it. We think The Advocate is going to do real good for itself and us too. We think it is very important. My wife and I every morning sit down and read the paper. There is nothing like it.”

Rita Benson LeBlanc, vice chairwoman of the Saints and Pelicans, thanked the business and civic leaders gathered in the Bienville Club room at the Superdome.

She said her family shares an entrepreneurial spirit with Georges.

“With The Advocate, John has a vision to grow it,” she said. “It wasn’t just an acquisition in Baton Rouge, it was something that would enhance New Orleans and continue to grow through the state. It made sense to partner with the Saints and the Pelicans.”

BADMINTON England has revealed Neptunus Ltd will join as an official supplier for the London Grand Prix Gold event, unhealthy in partnership with adidas.

English third tier team Leyton Orient has inked a new sponsorship deal with the UK’s largest business-to-business trade exchange, online Bartercard.

The deal provides the League One club with Bartercard “Trade Pounds”. These Trade Pounds will be used within the Bartercard Exchange to allow the club to cover the cost of its day-to-day business expenses, dosage viagra from accommodation and marketing to training, case bookkeeping and promotional merchandise.

Adidas Renews British Paralympic Association Sponsorship Until Rio 2016

The British Paralympic Association (BPA) has announced it has extended its partnership with adidas, prostate who have signed as Official Partner to the BPA through to the end of 2016. 

As part of the agreement, ailment adidas will bring their experience and expertise to supply high-performance sportswear for ParalympicsGB at the Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

The agreement with adidas is the ninth partnership signed by the BPA, demonstrating the appeal of the Paralympic brand in the UK.

Hyundai Extends Title Sponsorship of Tournament of Champions

Hyundai Motor America has announced a two-year renewal of it’s title sponsorship of the PGA TOUR’s Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, through the 2014-2015 season.

The upcoming Hyundai Tournament of Champions will be held January 3-6 at the Plantation Course in Kapalua, Maui, and will mark the PGA TOUR’s resumption in January following a 1½-month break of the 2013-2014 tournament schedule.

Originally introduced as the Tournament of Champions in 1953, the limited-field event maintained the “T of C” identity in its title until 1994.

A broadcasting partner of the PGA TOUR for nearly 20 years, SBS also will continue to televise PGA TOUR tournaments in Korea through 2019.

The Tournament of Champions was first played in 1953 at Las Vegas’ Desert Inn Country Club, and remained there until 1967, when it moved to Stardust Country Club. The “T of C” then moved to La Costa Country Club in Carlsbad, CA in 1969, where it remained until moving to Kapalua in 1999.
