IG Named as Principal Sponsor for Harlequins Big Game 6 Match

Harlequins have announced financial services company IG will be the principal sponsor for the Big Game 6 when the Club plays Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership at Twickenham Stadium on December 28th.

As the principal sponsor, IG will receive extensive stadium branding as well as their logo on the right sleeve of the match shirts. IG and Harlequins will also putting on various experiential events allowing spectators to ‘show their colours’ and get behind the Harlequins team.

Commenting on the partnership, Harlequins Commercial Director James Kendall said: “We are delighted to have IG as the principal sponsor for the Big Game 6 for the next three years.

AT&T Renews Title Sponsorship of Pebble Beach National Pro-Am

AT&T has extended its long-time sponsorship of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am through 2024, order the PGA Tour has announced.

AT&T has sponsored the tournament since 1986. Only one other PGA TOUR event has a longer-lasting sponsorship.

“We’re proud to continue the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am’s commitment to charities for years to come,” said Cathy Coughlin, AT&T global marketing officer and senior executive vice president. “It’s a great event for the community, our customers and our brand.”

Since the tournament began in 1937, it has raised more than $110 million for charities. The next AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am will take place Feb. 3-9, 2014. PGA TOUR golfers, celebrities and business leaders will team up to compete for a $6.6 million purse.

Intersport to Sponsor Four Hills Ski Tournament

The Four Hills tournament (Vierschanzentournee), adiposity composed of four Ski Jumping World Cup events, has announced Intersport has come on board as a Main Sponsor starting from this year’s event kick off in Oberstdorf, Germany on 28 December.

The sponsorship agreement was brokered by Infront Sports & Media, the official marketing partner of the German and Austrian Ski Federation (DSV and ÖSV) for the Vierschanzentournee. Following Intersport’s commitment, the event series’ sponsorship is sold out for this year.

Texas Trust Named Official Credit Union Sponsor of University of Texas at Arlington

The University of Texas at Arlington has named Texas Trust Credit Union the official credit union sponsor of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The seven-year, strategic partnership is the largest sponsorship agreement in UT Arlington athletic program history. Through the agreement, Texas Trust gains marketing and promotional rights through the University’s athletic programs.

The credit union will open a branch in the University’s 20-acre College Park District in spring 2014 and will place ATMs in various campus locations. Texas Trust also will market a variety of UT Arlington branded debit cards that will provide a cash reward to the University.

Texas Trust will provide financial tools and resources for educational purposes to support the UT Arlington Student Money Management Center, which educates students about money, savings and credit awareness.

Twenty20 International to Sponsor Germany’s Cricket Bundesliga

The Deutscher Cricket Bund (DCB), governing body for cricket in Germany, has announced a sponsorship deal with Twenty20 International, part of the wider Twenty20 Cricket Company in the UK, which will sponsor the 50-over Bundesliga competition for 2014.

Based in Surrey, England, Twenty20 International is a specialist division dedicated to the promotion and development of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) associate and affiliate cricketing nations. In the last few years, T20 International have been actively involved in the promotion of cricket in Germany by successfully running coaching sessions and supporting youth cricket events in Bonn and Hamburg.

Speaking at the announcement of the sponsorship, Neil Bunting, Director at Twenty20 International said: “We are delighted to announce that Twenty20 International will be sponsoring the German Bundesliga in 2014.  Having delivered several cricket camps Germany in the last few years we are fully aware of just how cricket is flourishing over here, so it is a great time to be involved.”

The sponsorship deal will see Twenty20 International actively promote club and regional cricket in Germany to the wider cricketing community, including by linking all Bundesliga results, tables and statistics through its website. In addition they will deliver a series of coaching courses and Camps, plus support cricket events throughout Germany and its regions during the 2014 season.  

Orlando City Reveal Orlando Health Sponsorship Extension

Orlando City has renewed its sponsorship deal with Orlando Health with the Florida-based organisation remaining the official healthcare partner of the USL Pro team.

They will also sponsor the proposed new downtown soccer stadium and Orlando City Youth Soccer (OCYS).

Under the agreement, Orlando Health will be the exclusive provider of medical care to Orlando City SC players, and provide athletic trainers who will perform training services for players, including on-site, in-stadium medical services as required on game days. In addition, the athletic trainers will provide services to participants at Orlando City Youth Soccer during practices, games, and tournaments.

Having served as the only jersey sponsor during the Club’s history in Orlando, the agreement also means Orlando Health is on the verge of becoming the first jersey partner in MLS history to commit to an expansion club before admittance into Major League Soccer.

Canadian Olympic Committee Seals Mondelēz Partnership

Kei Nishikori to Fly with Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines has become the official airline of Japanese professional tennis player Kei Nishikori and will support his U.S. domestic, cough Transatlantic and Transpacific air travel. 

Nishikori is the first Japanese professional tennis player sponsored by Delta.

The relationship will be in effect for two years during which Kei Nishikori will enjoy comfortable and convenient travel throughout Delta’s global network. He will fly in Delta’s premium class along with access to Delta Sky Club lounges will ensure that he is well rested and ready to play whenever he travels with Delta.

Kei Nishikori will display Delta’s logo on his official website, discount Facebook and Twitter accounts and will participate in customer events and interviews with Delta’s Japanese in-flight magazine Sky, stuff etc.

Metropolitan State University Sells its Naming Rights to New Athletic Complex

Metropolitan State University of Denver’s new athletic complex will be under a new name after the University sold the naming rights to the facility for $1 million.

Regency Student Housing, the off-campus housing for Auraria Campus students, bought the naming rights for 10 years.

Under the agreement, the university’s new athletic complex will be named The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver.

“We are thrilled with this opportunity to reaffirm the relationship between MSU Denver and Regency Student Housing,” said Angelique Salazar Moyer, vice president of operations for Central Street.

The athletics complex includes eight tennis courts that opened in August, a soccer stadium scheduled for completion by fall 2014, and baseball and softball diamonds in early 2015. The long-term project plan includes construction of a 20,000-square-foot building to house locker rooms, a strength and conditioning facility, and an athletic training room.

CFL’s Calgary Stampeders Extends Western Direct Sponsorship

Candaian Football League team, sales Calgary Stampeders has renewed its sponsorship deal with Western Direct Insurance.

Western Direct Insurance first announced its sponsorship of the Stampeders earlier this year in June.
