Westminster Kennel Club and Omnigon Release 2016 Dog Show App

February 12, 2016

For the fourth consecutive year, doctor The Westminster Kennel Club has teamed with Omnigon, arthritis digital consulting firm to the WKC and other leaders in the sports, media and entertainment industries, to design the app for the 140th Annual Westminster Dog Show.

Running February 13th-16th in New York City, the Westminster Dog Show is the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States.

New features to the 2016 app include:

– Live agility results from The Masters Agility Championship at Westminster, televised nationally Saturday, February 13 from 8-10PM, ET on FOX Sports 1

– Live video feed from the Obedience Ring (Ring 10) at Pier 94

– Photos and descriptions of all 199 breeds and varieties, including the seven breeds added for 2016 – Bergamasco Sheepdog, Berger Picard, Boerboel, Cirneco Dell’Etna, Lagotto Romagnolo, Miniature American Shephard, and Spanish Water Dog

As with last year, the app will also include several features to enhance the experience of those who attend the show, and provide real-time updates for those who cannot.

These features include Westminster 101, sharing the event’s rich history and proving a glossary of dog show terms, Venue and Vendor Maps of both Piers 92/94 and Madison Square Garden, real-time video feeds and results, and a detailed archive of the 2015 Breeds, Group and Best in Show video.

“We again turned to Omnigon to help us enhance our official show app,” said Seán McCarthy, President Westminster Kennel Club. “We’ve made enhancements to this year’s app and are very much looking forward to again serving our passionate fans while continuously bringing visibility to our marquee event.”

David Nugent, Chief Commercial Officer, Omnigon said:“We are excited to once again be working with the Westminster Kennel Club.

“Building on the success of the last few years, we look forward to super-serving their fan base from the Agility competition on Saturday straight through to Best in Show Tuesday evening.”

The app is available for download in both the Apple and Google Play Stores.
