Visionworks Becomes Official Eyewear Retailer of PGA Tour

Visionworks, sales a national prescription eyewear retailer, has announced it will join PGA TOUR’s Official Marketing Partner Program and will sponsor the Player Mobile Health and Fitness Trailers on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour.

Visionworks will be the “Official Eyewear Retailer of the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour,” specific to the fulfillment and retail sale of prescription eyewear. Visionworks will utilize the sponsorship to promote its “A Better You” brand promise through free vision screenings at several PGA TOUR and Champions Tour tournaments, presenting sponsorship of Inside the PGA TOUR, online activation on PGATOUR.com, and sponsorship of a PGA TOUR-themed network special that will air later in the year. Visionworks’ tournament activation begins this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open with free vision screenings and eye care information for all fans.

“Visionworks is proud to partner with the PGA TOUR to promote eye health, which is so critical to the game of golf,” said Jim Eisen, president of Visionworks. “With the Waste Management Phoenix Open, we have our first opportunity to support the golf community, and look forward to many great events to come all around the country.”

Throughout the season, the Visionworks brand will be prominently featured on the Player Mobile Health and Fitness Trailers. Staffed by professional physical therapists, chiropractors and athletic trainers, the state-of-the-art Health and Fitness Trailers are available to players at more than 60 tournaments throughout the season. Players use the facilities for personal conditioning, preventive care and rehabilitation.

“We are very pleased to announce this new marketing relationship with Visionworks that includes sponsorship of our health and fitness trailers,” said Tom Wade, Chief Marketing Officer of the PGA TOUR. “The traveling facilities have been available to our players for a number of years and have become a critical part of their preparation, conditioning and recovery from injury, both on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour.”

In addition to becoming an official sponsor, Visionworks has aligned with three PGA TOUR players including Jim Furyk, Rory Sabbatini, and Rod Pampling.

“The health and fitness trailers are consistently voted the number one player service on TOUR and we could not be out here doing what we do every week if it weren’t for companies like Visionworks,” said Rory Sabbatini. “I am excited to represent the Visionworks brand and look forward to sharing their eye health and education messaging with my fellow athletes.”
