iSportconnect Directors’ Club Makes Successful Debut in Paris

The first iSportconnect Directors Club to take place in Paris was a great success thanks to a panel of high-profile sport industry executives that came together to debate current issues in the French sport market.

Hosted at the historic Parc des Princes, prescription home of French Ligue 1 champions FC Paris Saint-Germain, shop the Directors Club welcomed three panelists: Frédéric Longuépée, sale Deputy Director General in charge of Commercial Affairs at Paris Saint-Germain Football Club; Pascal Grizot, President of the Ryder Cup 2018 Organizing Committee; and Léon-Alfred Opimbat, Minister of Sport and Physical Education of the Republic of Congo.

The event, hosted in association with Havas Sports & Entertainment and Paris Saint-Germain, along with iSportconnect partners Huggity, PrivatAir, Euroleague Basketball, and Hotel Planner, opened with an introduction speech from the moderator Jacques Messeca, Partner at Eversheds LLP, followed by questions from the audience about the Ryder Cup 2018, social media and new technologies, 2015 All-Africa Games, among others.

Speaking after the event, Sree Varma, Founder and CEO of iSportconnect, commented: “We are extremely pleased with our first Directors Club in Paris, and I would like to thank all of the panelists and delegates for joining us and making this first event such a success. We are now looking forward to taking the Directors Club even farther around the world to Moscow, New York and Munch in 2014.”

Longuépée shared his experience about speaking on the panel: “I am thrilled to have participated in the inaugural Directors Club panel, as it is a valuable opportunity for experts from the various sectors of the sport industry to meet and share best practices, something we don’t get to do often enough in our daily lives.”

Grizot commented: “This was a great opportunity to share the Ryder Cup project with other industry experts and the sport community.” 

Opimbat added his perspective: “This is a honorable occasion for us, and I would specifically like to thank Havas Sports & Entertainment with whom we are working very closely for the invitation to take the stage. This has been an opportunity to discover best practices and be inspired to help further engage our country and African countries more generally in all the benefits that sport can offer.
