SPORTEL America 2015: FEI Enlists Celebrity Kids To New Series

March 19, 2015

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) unveiled a brand-new North American competition at Sportel America in Miami on Tuesday.

The 14-event Longines FEI World Cup Jumping North American League will start in August 2015 and run to February 2016 with a minimum of $2.4 million in prize money on offer.

The new league, with events in the USA, Canada and Mexico, was announced with a ceremonial signing of a foundation deal between the federation and Longines.

Adding profile to the occasion were celebrity children who have become successful show-jumpers in Jessica Springsteen (daughter of Bruce) and Hannah Selleck (daughter of Tom). Bill Gates’ daughter Jennifer, another show-jumper, was also present in the room.

The new north American series will join the existing European and Chinese counterparts on the calendar.

The 2015 FEI World Jumping Finals take place in Las Vegas from April 15-19 with a $1.4 million jackpot on offer.
