Special Olympics Website Available In six Languages

The loyal relationship between Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia and Lionbridge Technologies went one step further today as it was announced that the latter will now donate translation services for Special Olympics’ global website, specialolympics.org, across multiple languages – expanding from English to six others including Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish.

Lionsbridge are a leading translation provider of translation, development and testing solution, and now look set to continue their association with their Olympic counterparts. Lionsbridge CEO Rory Cowan said: “We look forward to extending the value we provide to Special Olympics. Through sports they raise public awareness of the talents and needs of all people with intellectual disabilities throughout the world”

Before adding: “Lionbridge continues to be an integral part of helping this organisation achieve their goals to help athletes and supporters communicate more effectively.”

Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics has grown to become the largest sports organisation in the world for people with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round sports training, athletic competition and other related programs to nearly four million Special Olympics athletes in over 170 countries.
