RTÉ Sport Roars with Lions Tour Radio Deal

RTÉ Sport in Ireland has secured the radio commentary rights for the British and Irish Lions Tour of Hong Kong and Australia.

All ten matches will be covered by the station, order with the opening match against the Barbarians hosted on RTÉ 2FM.

RTÉ 2FM will also broadcast the three Test matches in Australia, with RTÉ Radio 1 Extra hosting the six other games on the tour.

Ryle Nugent, head of RTÉ Sport said that the amount of Irish players involved in the Lions squad – a total of 10 – was a big pull for the station.

Nugent added: “RTÉ Sport is delighted to be able to offer rugby fans the opportunity to hear live coverage of the Lions games in the coming weeks.”
