Roma Suffer New Stadium Disappointment

February 3, 2017

Serie A club AS Roma have suffered fresh disappointment in their bid to build a new stadium, after the city council of Rome ordered them to amend plans for the project.

The council confirmed it would not support the Stadio della Roma until specific guidelines are met. Roma have been given a month to rectify the issues, which mainly revolve around travel links and logistics.

The 52,500-capacity stadium is to be the central attraction of a new city complex, which will also include a training ground and restaurants. Roma hope that the project will be approved in the near future, and provisionally plan to move into their new home in 2019
