RLL Racing Partners with StemCyte

May 24, 2013

RLL Racing has named international stem cell banking and research company StemCyte Inc. as an associate sponsor for the rest of the Indycar 2013 season.

StemCyte will sponsor the racing team’s No. 16 Acorn Stairlifts entry, which is driven by James Jakes, for all remaining races on this year’s calendar.

RLL Racing co-owner Bobby Rahal said: “We are always looking towards innovation in our ongoing efforts within the world of motorsports.

“Working with StemCyte to promote awareness of cord blood banking, and the incredible medical research that can advance future healthcare, keeps all of us on the leading edge.”

StemCyte was already active in sport prior to signing the RLL deal. US Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller currently serves as an ambassador for the company and its work to develop new therapies to cure deadly and debilitating illnesses.

Calvin Cole, StemCyte’s president for commercial operations, North America, added: “We are very excited about our relationship with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

“We believe StemCyte’s brand aligns with the pioneering image of Indycar and the championship spirit of Bobby Rahal.

“Supporting driver James Jakes and getting the word out on options for expecting parents to secure their baby’s cord blood for future life-saving treatments is very important.”
