Real Madrid Put Television Rights for 2014-15 Up For Sale

June 25, 2014

Champions League winners Real Madrid have put their audiovisual up for sale for the 2014-15 La Liga season and have given bidders one week to register their interest.

The sale goes ahead as a battle continues between Madrid and the Competition Committee, who have ruled the contract between Real and Mediapro illegal due to its length.

The club has appealed that finding and released a statement that read: “Real Madrid has appealed the cited conclusions of the competition authority before the courts, and the case is still pending.

“Notwithstanding, as they have always done, and in accordance with the regulations, Real Madrid will listen to offers from those who might be interested in acquiring available audiovisual rights, with the sole intention of maximising the investment stemming from the club’s rights and defending the interests of the club.”

As well as applying to the club within seven days, the statement also said that interested bidders should “attach an explicatory report of the predicted commercial use and their economic offer.”
