Opposition to Munich 2022 Winter Games Bid Want Documents Revealed

October 28, 2013

The group that is opposing Munich’s 2022 Winter Olympic Games bid has said they want documents relating to the bid to be disclosed ahead of a referendum.

NOlympia opposes the bid for several reasons, price sale including the financial and environmental implication of hosting the event in the alpine region.

Europe Online quoted NOlympia spokespersons Katharina Schulze and Christian Hierneis as saying the documents were needed to give locals “a complete and transparent view of the bid.”

The referendum is set for November 10 and will decide whether the German city will bid for the 2022 Winter Games.

Munich failed in their 2018 bid to Pyeongchang, South Korea.
