Novvi Becomes Renewable Engine Oil Supplier of Sonoma Raceway

April 23, 2014

Sonoma Raceway will team with Novvi, clinic LLC this race season, as the Emeryville-based company supplies the raceway with its latest line of biodegradable and renewable lubricants.

“Sonoma Raceway is a terrific partner for Novvi because the raceway’s values of ultimate performance and environmental sustainability are exactly aligned with the benefits of our lubricants,” said Novvi CEO, Jeff Brown.

Novvi is the first producer of biodegradable and renewable base oils that can be formulated to match the performance of the best available petroleum-based products, contributing to a cleaner environment and more sustainable lubricants industry.

“The Novvi product is performance based and holds up extremely well under adverse conditions, the kind of conditions that are associated with any racing environment.” said KC Morrison, Simraceway Performance Karting Center manager.

The Simraceway Performance Karting Center is recognized as one of the premier karting facilities in the United States. Simraceway operates a fleet of 20 Rotax-powered Sprint Karts and 14 Honda-powered concession karts more than 200 days a year, all of which use Novvi oil. The karts are put through their paces over 200 days a year in all weather conditions and in a wide spectrum of temperatures.

In addition, Sonoma Raceway, in partnership with Levy Restaurants and Sonoma Valley High School, planted the raceway’s first organic garden in 2013. Fruits and vegetables from the garden are used at the Raceway Café and in Levy catering. During the upcoming summer months, the garden will yield tomatoes, peppers, edible flowers, green beans, lettuces, kale, chard and eggplant.
