NFL Secure Wembley Extension for Two Regular Season Games Per Year Until 2020

The National Football League (NFL) has agreed an extended deal to stage two regular-season matches a year at Wembley until 2020.

The deal also includes the option to extend by a furthr five years to 2025.

As part of the agreement NFL franchise the Jacksonville Jaguars have extended their contract to play one match in London for the duration of the deal.

Mark Waller, Executive Vice President, International of the NFL said: “This new agreement extends a very successful, long-term relationship.

“It is very exciting to be making this announcement in the same week that we will reach one million fans for the International Series in London.”

Earlier this year, the NFL also agreed a 10-year deal with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur to play two games per year at their new stadium from 2018.

“These agreements reiterate the NFL’s commitment to the UK, with two stadium deals running concurrently,” Waller added.

“To be playing in Wembley, the national stadium, and at Tottenham, in what will be London’s newest stadium, is fantastic.”

The latest NFL International game at Wembley will take place on Sunday, with the Buffalo Bills taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
