McDonald’s Signs On as National Paralympic Partner of Sochi 2014

McDonald’s, the Worldwide TOP Partner of International Olympic Committee, has announced a deal to become the national Paralympic Partner of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

The signed agreement is intended to contribute to the strengthening and development of the Paralympic Movement in Russia, enhancing the prestige of Russian Paralympic sport in the international arena and promoting the ideas of rehabilitation of people with disabilities through sports, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle in general. 

During Paralympic Games of 2014 in Sochi, two McDonald’s restaurants specially built for the purpose of Sochi 2014 Games will serve the athletes in the Coastal Olympic Village and in the Main Media Center, besides five restaurants of the company outside the Olympic venues. The best employees of the company from the whole of Russia, real “hospitality champions”, will provide services for the guests and participants of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games. 

Sochi 2014 President, Dmitry Chernyshenko, said: “McDonald’s has long been known for its charitable and social projects. Our goals coincide. This includes promotion of Olympic and Paralympic values and an active lifestyle as well as the development of children’s sport. The experience gained by the company over many years in supporting the Games will make a great contribution to the first ever Games without barriers in Russia.” 

The President of McDonald’s for Russia and Eastern Europe, Khamzat Khasbulatov added: “Support by McDonald’s of people with disabilities, and their provision with every opportunity, together with the creation of barrier-free environment are integral parts of McDonald’s philosophy”.
