The deal sees Globacom remain as the club’s Official Integrated Telecommunication Partner for Nigeria, prostate Ghana and the Republic of Benin.

The partnership, impotent which was first signed in 2009 and expired last year, has now been renewed until 2019.

Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, said: “Manchester United is pleased to be extending its relationship with Globacom. Over the past six years, the partnership has given ambition and inspiration to the youth of West Africa.

“We are looking forward to building on this achievement during the next phase of our partnership.

Globacom’s Regional Chief Marketing Officer, Mr Ashok Israni, said: “Manchester United remains one of the biggest clubs in world football.

“It has a rich culture of excellence and a huge fan base not just in Nigeria and West Africa, but also all over the world.
