March 6, 2013

English League One outfit, click Doncaster Rovers have signed a new deal with The Lindley Group, patient an independent British company which specialises in sports stadia, leisure sector and event catering.

Gavin Baldwin, chief executive of Doncaster Rovers said: “We are delighted to be announcing this deal with The Lindley Group.

“Since taking over the management of the stadium in 2012 we have worked closely with our fans, tenants and businesses that use the stadium. It has been clear to us that our catering offer was one we needed to improve to meet the expectations of those visitors.

“The Lindley Group has a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service and great fresh food at stadiums, arenas, racecourses, museums, art galleries, visitor attractions and theatres throughout Britain.

“They will manage the public concourse catering and hospitality at the 15,000 seat Keepmoat Stadium.  Lindley will also be injecting much needed investment in refurbishing many of the kiosks at the stadium and will work with the club to broaden the range of food on offer.”

This move means that Doncaster Rovers will be parting ways with Spotless, who were contracted to deliver the catering and cleaning at the venue.

“We have come to an agreement with our current suppliers who recognise that a change is needed to enable us to provide a more varied service to our fans and customers,” added Gavin.

Lindley is keen to engage with and support the local community, and is planning to manage the catering business at the ground  with a combination of full-time, part-time and temporary match-day staff from the local area.

Jonathan Davies, The Lindley Group’s Sales & Marketing Director, said: “We are really looking forward to working with Doncaster Rovers to enhance the match-day experience for fans and help the club to improve and expand their catering services.  Before introducing a new range of branded food kiosks on the public concourse we will be conducting a customer survey to understand their preferences and requirements, and will tailor the offering specifically to suit Doncaster Rovers’ fans.

“This deal will enable Doncaster Rovers to reap the benefit of our extensive experience in running catering operations in sports stadia at all levels up to football Premier League, rugby Super League and County Cricket grounds  throughout the UK.  Our strategy is  to increase a club’s turnover from catering by providing high quality food and an efficient service which will encourage more visitors to purchase their food and drinks at the ground.  Both the club and the fans benefit catering profits can then be reinvested in the club.”
