IOC Award Colombian Broadcast Rights to Caracol Televisión for London 2012

The agreement also includes the terrestrial television and radio broadcast rights in Colombia for the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in January 2012

Jacques Rogge, IOC President, said: “We look forward to continuing to work with Caracol Televisión. We believe they are well placed to provide great coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games in Colombia, as well as offering coverage of the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games.”

IOC Executive Board member Richard Carrión, who led the negotiations, commented, “I would like to thank the team at our partner Caracol Televisión for their cooperation in reaching this agreement, and for their commitment to provide fantastic free broadcast coverage of the Olympic Games in 2012.”

Caracol Television’s President, Carlos Alejandro Pérez Dávila,  added, “We are very pleased that Caracol Televisión has once again obtained the rights to the Olympic Games for Colombia. The London 2012 Olympic Games and the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games are world events of sporting excellence which we are proud to bring to our Colombian audience through our nationwide television network. The Olympic Movement and its ideals will be well represented through our first-rate coverage.”
