IOC Appoints Head of Executive Office

The recently-appointed International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach has selected Jochen Färber as Head of his Executive Office.

A former journalist and a communication and marketing expert, Färber is currently the Managing Director of the Olympic Training Centre for fencing in Germany and head of the centre’s marketing department. He has been involved in organising four Olympic and Paralympic Games, and over 20 Fencing World Championships. He also ran his own PR and communications agency for over a decade. 

The 46-year-old German speaks German, English and French and will take up his new position on 1 December.
