Our client is one of the world’s blue-chip management consultancy companies – and they are looking to hire someone special to manage the Sports Business Advisory Practice, located in Zurich.

The successful appointee will come from a strong strategic consultancy background, which has been attained at an organisation of similar stature.

Dealing with the international governing bodies and the plethora of sports companies that are located in Switzerland, this is a key role within the sports practice – and the remuneration package will reflect this.

The role combines both business development and the delivery of a top-class strategic advice that will help shape the future of some of the world’s leading sports.

The role requires…

  • 5-6 years of relevant experience in business and strategy consulting at a renowned international consulting firm and a master’s degree in Business Administration or similar.
  • The ability to identify and address client needs, actively participate in client discussions and meetings, prepare proposals and manage client project delivery with a fair degree of independence.
  • A solid experience and understanding of the media and entertainment industry; experience in the retail and consumer industry is an advantage.
  • A strong interest in the sports industry and a good grasp of the key issues and challenges.
  • Proven conceptual and analytical skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and fluency in English, both verbally and in writing (knowledge of German is an advantage).

First and foremost, we are looking for a highly proficient consultant.  Prior experience within the sports sector is desirable, but not essential.

Exceptional candidates may be considered who have gained their consulting experience within a specialist sports agency, rather than with a recognised “big 10” management consultancy practice.  Such experience must be encompass “strategic consultancy” in its strictest sense, rather than in a single subset of the industry (sponsorship, event management, media consultancy – for example).
