The President of International Federation of Roller Sports (FIRS) believes that his sport is the favourite to land a spot at the 2020 Olympic Games. Roller Sports is one of eight sports on the short list to be included in the 2020 programme, along with; Baseball / Softball, Karate, Sport Climbing, Squash, Wakeboarding, Wrestling and Wushu. President of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation
has spoken exclusively to iSportconnect about wakeboarding’s
chances of being added to the Olympic 2020 programme.
Kuno Ritschard said that wakeboarding has a good chance to be
selected by the IOC because of their youth-orientated approach.
London: The
President of the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation
(IWWF) has said that the IOC should not reinstate Wrestling to the
2020 Olympic Games if they are to keep to previous promises.
Wrestling was controversially axed from the Olympic programme for
the 2020 Games and Wakeboarding is one of the sports looking to
take its place.
