RightNow Digital, creators of mobile apps for sponsors and rights-holders, has been shortlisted for ‘Best New Innovation’ at the prestigious Sports Technology Awards (STAs).
The company’s social hubs and mobile apps enable brands to create their own mobile media channels and take advantage of all the features native apps provide. Practically, this means providing fans with frequent, relevant news and social media updates, ensuring there is always new and interesting content available to them.
The judges were impressed that RightNow Digital’s solutions can extend a brand’s reach, enable far better end-user targeting and ensure data is retained by the client, rather than social platforms – and do this in a way that is cost-effective, quick to deliver and maximises fan engagement. This has led the company to be shortlisted alongside impressive competition from fellow finalists, BT Sport, Dugout, Genius Sports, Spalk and Intel.
Simon Ryley, founder of RightNow Digital said: ‘We are delighted to be shortlisted, especially given the calibre of our fellow shortlistees. This will bring our work to a much wider audience in sport, which is important as our apps are a great solution for brands, publishers and rights-holders, especially for digitally activating a sponsorship.’
He continued: ‘In sport, focus is often on game days but fan interest is week-long; using RightNow Digital, companies targeting sports fans can ensure they are part of the conversation at all times and generate much more exposure for their content marketing efforts. Our apps give control back to marketers who are frustrated by the limited reach, inappropriate targeting and lack of data provided by social platforms. We have been excited by the way the sports industry has embraced our solutions and now count QBE, Scarlets and rugby legend, Shane Williams amongst our clients.’
The ‘Best New Innovation’ category celebrates sports technology created between June 2014 and November 2016. Applicants were invited from all aspects of sport, including hardware, software, materials, nutrition and mechanics.
