Hope Solo To Speak At Global Sports Forum Barcelona 2012

Celebrated US Soccer goalkeeper joins Eric Cantona and Oscar Pistorius amongst distinguished line-up of speakers


Global Sports Forum Barcelona (GSFB), the world’s leading exchange platform for sport, has today announced that Hope Solo will take part in the 4th edition of the annual Forum, 7 – 9 March, 2012 – www.globalsportsforum.org


Hope Solo is widely considered to be the best female goalkeeper in the world and has been the starter for the United States Women’s National Team since 2005. At the 2011 World Cup, Hope was awarded the “Golden Glove” by FIFA as the tournament’s top goalkeeper, as well as the “Bronze Ball” award for her overall performance to help USA reach the final.


After delivering such a strong performance at the FIFA World Cup In 2011, Hope appeared on the hit US TV programme ‘Dancing with the stars’, making it all the way through to the show’s semi-final. It is this growing trend of top sports stars crossing into mainstream entertainment that she will be discussing at the GSFB, where she joins a panel discussion on “Sport and Entertainment: Bridging the Gap”.


Hope will be joined on the panel by Emmanuel Seuge, Head of Global Sports and Entertainment Marketing at The Coca-Cola Company and Bruno Schwobthaler, Senior Vice President Sales & Business Development EMEA at Warner Brothers.
