Rob Faulkner, capsule the former Head of Relations and Corporate PR at UEFA, has joined communications consultancy Leidar.

Faulkner joins Leidar with the aim to build a dedicated sports offering and to strengthen the corporate communications team.

He joins after 12 years with UEFA, where he worked across all major competitions and supported presidents and senior management with communications strategy, advice and daily media relations work.

Speaking about his new role, Faulkner said: “I am delighted to be joining Leidar at a time of major growth for the agency.

“I am looking forward to using my experience in the sports world together with my international network of media contacts to assist organisations and brands in their communication work.

“Leidar’s size and structure means we can react quickly, creatively and cost-effectively to a client’s brief and having spent many years client-side I know just how important this is.”

Leidar CEO, Rolf Olsen added: “We are thrilled to have added an international resource like Rob to the team. Being based in Switzerland, home to numerous sports federations and increasingly European headquarters to major global corporations, this is a great opportunity for Leidar.

“With Rob’s network of media contacts and pedigree in sport we can now offer an increased level of strategic advice and insight to our clients.

“Leidar has experienced strong year-on-year growth since founding three years ago and I am convinced we will attract new business while continuing to service our existing client base to the highest possible standards.”

Faulkner has over 20 years of experience and started his career in sports sponsorship, before moving into communications.
