Former FIFA Secretary-General Ruffinen Considers Standing for FIFA Presidency

Former FIFA secretary-general Michel Zen Ruffinen has said he has been asked to stand for election to become the next president of FIFA. 

Ruffinen served as FIFA’s secretary-general from 1998 to 2002 and left after falling out with FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

He says he will “monitor the situation” and see “if it makes sense” for him to announce his candidacy.
