FC Barcelona President Bartomeu Steps Down

FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu officially resigned from his position at the final meeting of the club’s board of directors. 

The Spaniard will however, run for re-election next month and therefore needed to step down as this is the process any of the club’s board members must adhere to.

The club will now decide when the elections will take place, with a date in July the likeliest outcome. 

Renewed partnerships

Also at their final board meeting, the club agreed partnership extensions with Lassa Tyres as main sponsor of the sections and official partner of the Club, smartphone and tablet manufacturer Oppo as official Club sponsor for the next three years and Coca Cola Iberian Partners SA in a one-year deal.

The Catalan giants are also expected to soon ratify an extension with main club sponsor Qatar Airways until 2020.
