Eurosport Receive Best Ever Audience For US Open Women’s Final

Eurosport secured its best ever TV ratings for a US Open women’s tennis final in the 14 years of the event being broadcast on the channel.

Serena Williams’ win over Caroline Wozniacki attracted an average live audience of 1.53 million European viewers on Eurosport, price an increase of 22% in comparison to the 2013 final, which held the previous record.

Williams’ victory also received a record in audience reach as a total of 5 million different European viewers watched the American secure her 18th Grand Slam singles title.

The 2014 US Open once again broke the 50 million viewer mark on Eurosport, reaching 54.1m European fans during the 15 days of the event.

This follows on from Eurosport’s broadcast coverage of this year’s French Open Women’s final, which drew an average live audience of 3.8 million viewers, the most watched women’s tennis match in Eurosport’s history.
