Eurosport Extends Eurocup Broadcasting Rights Deal

EuroleagueBasketball and the Eurosport Group have announced Eurosport 2 will remain the official broadcasting partner of the Eurocup for a further three seasons until 2015.

As in previous seasons, Eurosport 2 will cover several games live each week for the duration of the deal. The channel will also produce and broadcast in HD the showpiece EurocupFinal, which becomes an exciting standalone match for the 2012/2013 season. Finally, Eurosport 2 has developed a new on-air look for its Euroleaguemagazine show which will be broadcast on Tuesdays in the build-up to live action.

Eurosport 2 is one of the fastest-growing TV channels in Europe, reaching 61 million households in 18 languages across 47 countries. Its coverage of the Eurocupsince 2005 has accompanied the growth of the competition into a brand that is followed closely by millions of fans throughout Europe and the rest of the world. This season the Eurocupwill feature 32 clubs from 17 countries.

The deal also includes broadcast of the Eurocupand Euroleaguemagazine in the 17 countries covered by Eurosport in the Asia Pacific region.
