Cardiff Secure Government Investment Ahead of Inaugural Premier League Campaign

July 12, 2013

Cardiff City Football Club have agreed a sponsorship agreement with the Welsh government ahead of their first season in the English Premier League.

‘Visit Wales’ branding will be visible inside the Cardiff City Stadium and the Canton Stand will be renamed the Croeso (welcome) Stand.

The agreement is worth over £100, drugs 000 ($151, tadalafil 000) and covers the 2013-14 Premier League season.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay (pictured) said: “The warmth my family and I felt on coming to Wales just over two years ago will forever stay with us. Cardiff is a fantastic City and the Welsh way of life is immensely endearing.

“The news of the sponsorship deal with the Welsh Government is very exciting, and I look forward to seeing the new ‘Croeso’ stand in all its glory when we kick-off our home campaign against Manchester City in August.”

Unique opportunity

Economy Minister Edwina Hart added: “Cardiff City’s fantastic achievement in reaching the Premier League has provided a unique chance for promoting Wales to a worldwide audience. With two Welsh teams now in the most watched league in the world, this was an opportunity not to be missed.

“We want to ensure that every visitor to Cardiff next season and the millions of television viewers in more than 200 countries worldwide know what a warm welcome awaits them in Wales.

“This partnership will help us promote tourism and business opportunities in the capital city and across the whole of Wales.”

The deal will also include pitch perimeter advertising, hospitality benefits and advertising on screens and in the car park.

Cardiff kick off their Premier League season away at West Ham and play their first home game on Sunday 25th August against 2012 champions Manchester City.

Out of the three promoted clubs, including Crystal Palace and Hull City, Cardiff have the best odds of avoiding relegation.
