Build Your Future Steps Up as Associate Sponsor of Nascars’ David Starr

March 2, 2012

The Build Your Future (BYF) Campaign has announced that it has renewed its associate sponsorship of Zachry No. 81 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver David Starr for the 2012 season.

After a successful five-race run as an associate sponsor in 2011, BYF has expanded its support and become a full-season associate sponsor this year.

“David Starr’s background as a welder makes him an ideal choice for Build Your Future. He’s a great spokesperson for our industry and is an enthusiastic advocate for career and technical education,” said Diane Greene, executive director of the Build Your Future Campaign. “David’s achievements demonstrate the similarities between building a successful race team and building a successful construction project; safety is always a common theme.”

Starr performed well on the track in 2011, notching two top-five finishes and eight top-ten finishes. This year, he will drive the No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra for Arrington Racing.

Starr will also be a special guest speaker at two of this year’s BYF-sponsored career events, both of which precede Truck Series races. BYF’s North Carolina Construction Career Day is set for May 16 in Concord, N.C., and will be followed by the N.C. Education Lottery 200 on May 18 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Starr’s second appearance will be at BYF’s Texas Construction Career Day on Oct. 31 in Dallas, Texas, as a featured part of BYF’s Careers in Construction Week (CICW). Careers in Construction Week is designed to increase public awareness of the hard work and contributions of our nation’s craft professionals and increase students’ interest in pursuing construction as a career. Starr will run in the WinStar World Casino 350 on Nov. 2 at Texas Motor Speedway.
