Brazilian Club Concludes Sponsorship Deal With Wizard

April 10, 2012

Sao Paulo Football Club has finally reached a new sponsorship agreement with education company Wizard after months of negotiations.

Earlier this year, Wizard had agreed on a deal in principle with the Brazilian club, but it has now put pen to paper on an extension through to December 2014. Wizard’s brand will be displayed on the sleeves of Sao Paulo’s shirt, while it will also be engaged in a new social programme. The project will be held in cities where Sao Paulo travel to play this season and will see Wizard support a donation programme to local charities.

“We always offer our sponsors the opportunity to activate their brand in conjunction with our strength,” said Sao Paulo’s marketing director Roge David. “Wizard will provide the instant support to our social action granting it everything it needs to be a success. I’m sure the people of Sao Paulo will be proud to see our players taking a bit of joy to needy people throughout the country.”

Claudio Tienghi, director of social responsibility for Wizard, added: “I wanted to highlight the happiness of renewing the contract with Sao Paulo and also identify this signature has a synergy between the social objectives of both parties. Wizard is a brand concerned to include the theme of sustainability increasingly in its actions.” Sao Paulo’s contract with its main shirt sponsor, banking group BMG, expired at the end of last year.
