BMW Secures European Tour Sponsorship Extension

May 19, 2014

German automobile manufacturer BMW has signed a four-year extension to its current deal with the European Tour, continuing its sponsorship of three branded events through to 2018.

The brand will continue their support for the flagship BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, which is taking place this weekend over the West Course.

The other two tournaments are the BMW International Open in Germany and the BMW Masters in China – the latter being part of the Tour’s recently-created Final Series.

BMW will also continue to be the official car of the European Tour and remain a partner of The Ryder Cup.

Tour chief executive George O’Grady said: “Ever since we began our relationship with BMW, they have been a strong and trusted partner.

“This new agreement once again underlines the strength in our relationship and creates a platform for us to shape the future of the European Tour over the coming years.”

The BMW International Open will be staged for a 26th consecutive year in June when Ernie Els will defend his title at Gut Larchenhof in Cologne.
