November 5, 2014

Online company Amazon has agreed sponsorship deals with two Polish football clubs.

Amazon will sponsor Lech Poznan and Slask Wroclaw after opening two new logistic centres in Wroclaw over recent months.

“We are going to employ 2500 workers and additional 4000 for some part of year,” said Kerry Person, Amazon’s chief executive in the region.

“This is long-term investment and we want to play active role in life of local society. That’s why we decided on partnership with Slask, which is significant element of Wroclaw’s landscape.”

Marek Drabcyzk, the vice chairman of Slask Wroclaw, added: “We are proud that Slask can take advantage of such renowned partner’s support. Amazon is said to be one of the biggest company on global market.

“I am sure it will give our region chance of development. This partnership should give both sides a lot of satisfaction. I do believe that this is just a beginning of a long-term partnership.”
